The Baltic Sea Region has been a successful marketplace for more than 1,000 years. Today it is the leader in prosperity and continues to grow vigorously.
The Baltic Sea Region currently has one of the worl's highest growth rates, and Scandinavia claims 40% of the region's population. The region holds strong positions in the areas of forest products, telecommunications, oil, gas and in the
field of health care.
The relatively few number of languages, of which several ar related, means that the countries can conduct business with very few communication problems. And the business environment in the area displays strong diversity, even
among countries with similar economies.
The area boasts outstanding intraregional infrastructure and logistics including roads, ferries, air traffic and telecom fiber optics. Human resources are also abundant in terms of skilled labour, and there is a general low corruption rate, and few restrictive regulations.
